Why Join CCA

The Chinese Communication Association (CCA) was founded in 1989 and is a non-profit organization that aims to promote the research and teaching activities of Chinese communication scholars and professionals around the world, to connect and strengthen the ties between and among the members, and to enhance the visibility of the Chinese Communication scholars. Currently, the CCA has more than 300 active members from major universities teaching or studying in the United States, Asia and elsewhere. It is truly an open, diverse and global academic organization.

Membership Benefits

  • Free access to Communication & Society (傳播與社會學刊).

  • Opportunities to participate and showcase your research at dedicated CCA panels in major international conventions. CCA pays for panels at the annual conferences of the National Communication Association (NCA), the International Communication Association (ICA), and the Association for Education in Journalism and Mass Communication (AEJMC)

  • Special Access to the CCA  social gatherings at the major conferences mentioned above. These are large social network opportunities and are attended by hundreds of scholars.

  • In addition to the newsletter, the CCA announces announcements that specifically target Chinese communication scholars through its email listserv and social media outlets​. Each year we receive job ads from universities in Australia, China, Singapore,  Taiwan, and other countries that seeking scholars who specialize in Chinese communication.
